![]() ![]() You will be able to craft and take part in other activities to help bring colour and joy back to the island.Ĭosy Grove takes place on beautiful, dynamic, hand-drawn landscapes that come alive when you help a spirit in need. You’ll find new hidden secrets and help soothe the local ghosts. Players control a Spirit Scout, and as a Spirit Scout, you’ll wander the island’s forest each day. Cosy Grove will be published by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild on Nintendo Switch on April 8th.Ĭozy Grove is a life simulator game all about camping on a haunted yet continually changing island. Developed by Spry Fox who made the award-winning Steam and mobile game Triple Town. Cosy Grove is a slice-of-life game, with ghosts. There are a lot of inspirational screenshots of people decorating their campsites as well as discussions on QoL, etc.At LadiesGamers we are always on the lookout for cute and wholesome games heading to the Nintendo Switch. I recommend checking out r/CozyGrove if you are still on the fence. ![]() It's adorable, I love the art style and getting to know the bears and their stories has been really great. Quest balancing has also been done by the devs a few times. The game rewards you for hoarding, in a way, as many of the quests will ask for very large sums of resources. My bf has about 95 hours in the game and I have over 200, and we've been playing the same time (both at launch til now). Some resources come back quickly and others don't. The game isn't mean to be grindy, but you can grind a little: gathering resources and fishing are two things you can do once quests are done for the day. There's been a steady stream of QoL updates and a big summer content update just in the last 3 months. The devs are amazing at listening to players and delivering updates. It doesn't ruin the game for me since there's no combat, etc that can truly be affected by it. There is noticeable stuttering, as others have said. I'm happy with my full-price purchase, so, in my opinion, any discount to that is a bonus.īeen playing since the launch on Switch, so I'm in Day 90+ There's something new to do every day, but not enough to keep me sunk in and grinding, which I appreciate. I'm getting pretty close to the end (I think) and maybe spend 30-60 minutes a day playing. Sign on, do a few things, turn it off and do something else. In terms of the gameplay loop it's right up my alley for this point in my life. Once you've handled all of the quests for the day you can fish and look for resources, but there are only so much that can appear in a day so even that gets limited. In fact, unlike Animal Crossing, the game seems to almost force you to come back later. The game is definitely something you play in small doses, especially in the beginning. It's a few new hair styles, but it is nice to have new choices. I'm still enjoying it despite it all.Ĭharacter creation got a minor expansion with the vendor that sells wigs. My game freezes every five minutes when the game auto-saves/updates. Stuttering is still an issue, and, in my experience, getting worse with each update. UPDATE Here are other games that were recommended in the thread : Overall, how do you feel about the gameplay loop? Is it better enjoyed if expectations are to just check in for a little bit every day, similar to Animal Crossing, rather than grind? (Also, I haven't played an AC since New Leaf and not interested in NH). How do you feel about character creation? I think non-binary MC is cool, I'd still like to be able to customize the appearance and whatnot. Is performance/stuttering still an issue? Aaanyway, wondering if you all have some updated input on common criticisms and feedback I see for Cozy Grove: Probably some others but these are my top-played. I've exhausted or near-exhausted my time with these other titles across multiple platforms: It looks pretty relaxing, I like the Don't Starve aesthetics, and I'm sorta keeping my eyes open for a new low-key/chill kind of game in the $5-$15 range. I see it's back on sale and I've been curious about it since launch a few months ago. ![]()
